"Those who finish last sometimes finish first." Claire qouted. Goodness, she likely had a good quote acquired from at least one per person in her life. The last one came from one of her uncles who handled the rodeo half of the horses. He had meant his words to mean that even if you don't get first place doesn't mean you lost, maybe instead your goal was to beat your last time or not fall off the horse. If you accomplished that, then you've won. He was right in those regards, Claire didn't have to win to feel like she had won. "Must be quite the sight." She giggled at him, he had a good sense of humor to boot.
Claire looked up as Chasing approached just as Jamie had mentioned. She hadn't pictured him in such a way, but she was catching on fast. These men teased and tortured each other and that was an integral part of their friendship. She laughed at Chasing's reaction and nodded, "Indeed, a Catholic school nun at that." To which furthered her laughter and shook her head at him. He couldn't through a Scottish accent when his Southern one was so strong. She might be able to mimick it without butchering it so. "Best leave the Scottish to one who really is, Chase." Claire told him and to Jamie, she patted the horse beneath her, "Gunner isn't Gunner for nothing, this is just a warm-up, let's ride."

"You know what Scotsmen where under their kilts right?", Chasing turned to Claire, "Buszz Lightyear diapers cause they are all babies". "Fer that, I'll gut yer girth", Jamie threatened, then turned to Claire, "Only manly men where skirts", he gave Chasing a flirtateous wink. "I've met some of these manly men, all I have to say is 'Wowman wannabes'. We'll meet you out on the course Claire", Chasing laughed as Jamie took a step towards him. The two of them headed towards the stalls trading insults and jokes about which one of them was more manly than the other. Of course it was all good banter but it was easy to see they really cared about each other.
